One of the most important abilities in life is being vulnerable. It’s a SUPERPOWER.
Being vulnerable is a cornerstone to the intimacy that strengthens relationships.
What is being vulnerable? Why is it important? Is it a trait, skill, or a way of life? And how can we embody or practice it?
Personally, being vulnerable is one of the hardest things for me to do.
I didn’t grow up in the type of environment that promoted vulnerability in any way whatsoever.
Being vulnerable was what it felt like. Like literally making me susceptible to getting hurt and taken advantage of. The fear itself was overwhelmingly triggering, and I really had real reasons to avoid being vulnerable.
But being vulnerable is how a child naturally communicates.
Emotionally driven and naturally inclined to their instincts and intuition.
That’s why children like playing and enjoy complaining.
