A dance of nerves, a waltz of fears,

As attraction’s pull draws ever near.

Once smooth and cool, now unsure steps,

A year of sobriety, new paths to accept.

Self-conscious whispers, imagined links,

As the mind overthinks and the spirit shrinks.

Eyes that shift, gazes that roam,

In silent language, stories are shown.

Mutual nervousness, a shared unknown,

In the space between words, connection grown.

Fear of judgment, a creeping dread,

“Am I weird?” the silent question spread.

But authenticity’s light begins to shine,

Illuminating paths both yours and mine.
